Dairy Queen celebrates spring with free cones for a cause

The fast food chain will be giving out free ice cream cones at all participating locations on Tuesday.

"This day has become a spring tradition and a sign that warmer weather is upon us", Maria Hokanson, executive vice president of marketing for American Dairy Queen Corp., said.

They will also be accepting optional donations for Duke Children's Hospital and Health Center.

The famous cone with the iconic curl on top takes center stage on the first day of spring as the Dairy Queen system offers up a celebratory sweet giveaway.
