Eagles will host Vikings to open National Football League season

As everyone knows, the champion from the previous year is fortunate enough to host the opening game to start off the new season, and when looking at all of the potential matchups Philadelphia could face on September 6, the meeting with Minnesota seemed to stick out the most.

The Eagles went on to win Super Bowl LII 41-33 over New England at U.S. Bank Stadium. Many Cowboys fans had wondered if the division rivalry would be rekindled on that Thursday night, but that faced long odds and precedent otherwise.

The Denver Broncos traded quarterback Trevor Siemian to the Minnesota Vikings, the team announced Monday.

Howard Eskin of FOX 29 in Philadelphia is reporting that the NFL Kickoff Game has been decided and it will be a rematch of the 2017-18 NFC Championship Game.

The Cowboys won two of the three games against the Giants, and there are good odds they would make it three-of-four if they played again. The Vikings will be expected to be one of the best teams on both sides of the football next season with Cousins having a lot of pressure to show results right away in his first year with the NFC heavyweights.

The game could very well be the toughest test the Eagles face next season.

Here are the other options.

The Eagles will play their usual NFC East opponents at home as well as the Atlanta Falcons, Carolina Panthers, Houston Texans and Indianapolis Colts.
