Florida took advantage, lugging a 33-32 lead into the locker room when Koulechov tipped home Chiozza's miss with a second remaining.

Five players are averaging at least 8.9 points per game for Florida, they are Jalen Hudson (15.3), Egor Koulechov (13.6), KeVaughn Allen (11.3), Chris Chiozza (11.2) and Keight Stone (8.8), Koulechov tops in rbeounds with 6.5 while Chiozza leads in assists with 6.1. Though the Gators did lead at one point, a horrendous fouling disparity (the Red Raiders were in the bonus for the final 13:23 and 10 fouls were called on UF in the first 9:39 of the second half) gave the higher seed an opportunity to pull ahead.

Florida had some huge wins this season - beating Gonzaga, Cincinnati, Auburn, Texas A&M and Kentucky (twice). It was 9-9 at the first timeout just 4:03 into the game and with Koulechov hitting a pair of threes, the Gators grabbed a 26-19 lead with just under 10 minutes to play in the half. Allen went 2 of 11 from the floor, which included missing a driving layup. Instead of calling a timeout, Florida head coach Mike White elected to play it out, and it nearly worked out. By the time he came back in at the 7:53 mark, the Red Raiders were on top 58-50. Whether Hudson joins them and declares early for the National Basketball Association remains to be seen.
