Hyderabad: Father cuts off son's wrist for watching porn in mobile

Mohammad Abdul Qayyum Qureshi kept warning his 19-year-old son, Khalid Qureshi, against excessive use of his cell phone time, especially when it comes to watching porn, according to the police.

The alleged incident, in the city of Hyderabad, India, happened when 18-year-old Mohammad Khalid Qureshi refused to obey repeated warnings from his 45-year-old father.

During wee hours on Monday, when everybody was sleeping, Qayyum woke up and chopped his son's right-hand wrist with a butcher knife. Mohammed Qayyum Qureshi has been arrested on charges of attempt to murder. After attacking his son, Qayyum surrendered to the police.

The father and son had a heated argument over the issue two days ago. Recently, Khalid bought a smartphone and got addicted to watching movies and pornography.

According to a report from the Los Angeles Times, the Oscars had a drop in viewership by about 20% in comparison to past year . He continued, "Trump loves saying the ratings are down to insinuate that is a show of some kind of support for him".

His father had repeatedly told him to stop watching the X-rated films but young Khalid refused to ditch the habit.

The man was reportedly angry with his son over his addiction to watching films and porn videos on mobile phone. The moment he tried to snatch the phone away from his hand, the son bit his father's hand and ran away. After returning home late that day, he again continued with his usual business, which led to further altercation between the two.

"Hearing the son's screams, the other family members came and immediately took him to a nearby hospital, where the doctors said the hand was 90% severed and the chances of restoring it are bleak", the official added.
