The Patriots certainly need a two-gapping capable run defender in their defense after reportedly recently informing veteran defensive tackle Alan Branch that they had no intentions of picking up his $1 million option for the 2018 season. At 6-foot-2, 335 pounds, he ran a 5.64-second 40-yard dash, 7.99-second 3-cone, 4.65-second short shuttle, 30.5-inch vertical leap and 7-foot, 11-inch broad jump with 34 bench press reps at the 2015 NFL Scouting Combine.

The Browns aren't done trading yet, completing four trades in less than 24 hours.

Shelton is 24 and joins Malcom Brown, Lawrence Guy, Adam Butler and Vincent Valentine on the defensive tackle depth chart.

On Wednesday afternoon (March 14) at 4:00 p.m. ET, the NFL's new fiscal year will begin.
