USA lawsuit over California immigration laws is warning shot


Colorado lawmakers who disagree point out that the U.S. Constitution forbids local cops from enforcing federal laws.

An Oregon lawmaker called the suit an attempt to "bully states".

The meeting came a day after the Trump administration announced it had filed a lawsuit challenging California laws that it says protect immigrants in the country illegally.

A Williams' bill a year ago would have allowed local government officials to face civil or criminal penalties if public policies on immigration led to the injury of citizens.
