A new George RR Martin book planned _ but not THAT book

"As most of you know, HBO is presently developing a number of different prequels to 'GAME OF THRONES.' I know I am going to be asked whether those shows are going to be based on material from 'FIRE & BLOOD.' It's a logical question".

The new book pushes 1,000 pages, something not unusual for a book of Martins. Readers have been eagerly anticipating "The Winds of Winter", the sixth in the series, for years - Martin has yet to finish the novel, which will be the first new book in the series since "A Dance With Dragons" was published in 2011.

Mick Mulvaney Warns Bankers: I Only Spoke To Lobbyists Who Paid Me
Elizabeth Warren , D-Mass., has sparred with acting CFPB Director Mick Mulvaney several times over his handling of the agency. Mulvaney said that trying to sway legislators was one of the 'fundamental underpinnings of our representative democracy".

After dropping the bomb that Winds won't be out this year, Martin tempered the news with the announcement that in November, he'll be releasing Volume One of Fire & Blood, a new book set in Westeros.

Martin wrote on his blog, "This is the book that I used to jokingly refer to as the GRRMarillion", referring to J.R.R. Tolkien's The Silmarillion, which serves as a historical background to his Middle Earth books. "You're going to have to keep waiting for THE WINDS OF WINTER", he wrote. This is not a traditional narrative and was never meant to be... let's call this one 'imaginary history' instead.... The essential point being the "history' part". "Fire & Blood" is a prequel to the "A Song of Ice and Fire" book series that forms the basis for the hit HBO show "Game of Thrones". For those not up on your Westerosi history, that's Aegon I, Aenys, Maegor the Cruel, Jaehaerys I (the Conciliator), Viserys I, Aegon II (and Rhaenyra), and Aegon III (the regency). "As for me, I'm returning once again to The Winds of Winter", he adds. But maybe not the one fans have been longing for. Now, with the show about to enter its eighth and final season, fans are curious as to what new information they'll glean from Martin's written word.

According to an April 25 report by Us Weekly Magazine , Lauren Cohan's contract negotiations were held up for financial reasons. Meanwhile, Lauren Cohan did not reveal if she would be returning to The Walking Dead as a series regular.

"You will, however, be able to return to Westeros this year", he wrote. The first of two books, it delves into the reign of seven Targaryen kings and queens, including Aegon the Conquerer, the first Targaryen to sit on the Iron Throne and the ancestor of Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke).
