Now, Apple just made its growing oeuvre even more interesting with the announcement of a sci-fi series that was previously thought to be unadaptable. Friedman is now working on Avatar 2, while Goyer has written numerous comic book adaptations including Blade, Ghost Rider, the Dark Knight trilogy, Zack Snyder's DC franchise, and the new Superman spinoff Krypton. The project was put together by Skydance Television, who made a deal with the Asimov estimate and put writer/producers David S. Goyer and Josh Friedman on the job of figuring out how to adapt Asimov's influential series.

The classic Foundation trilogy is the latest science-fiction property to be adapted for a video series, and this time it's Apple developing the project. In November, they set their first scripted series, a morning show drama executive produced by and starring Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon, with a two-season, straight-to-series order.

Carrie Underwood releases her new single Cry Pretty
Not only that, she'll be debuting new material in the world television premiere of her upcoming single. Last November, Underwood accidentally fell on the steps outside of her home.

Isaac Asimov was a science fiction writer, and during his lifetime was considered one of the "Big Three" names in the genre, along with Robert A. Heinlein and Arthur C. Clarke.

Foundation follows humans scattered across different planets who are all living under the rule of a Galactic Empire, per Deadline.

Hollywood has been attempting to nail an adaptation of Foundation for years. Skydance's David Ellison, Dana Goldberg and Marcy Ross also will executive produce.

Goyer has a slew of film and television credits in his bio, having co-written Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight trilogy, as well as being pivotal to New Line's Blade franchise, directing the last of the three movies. Meanwhile, Friedman is best known for his work on the small screen, working as the writer for the sci-fi TV series Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles.
