Ford Motor Company (F) Announces It's Dropping Sedans In Major Product Shift


Analysts have predicted that the decision to stop the sedan sales was based on the investor pressure to augment Ford's product lineup and enhance its profits.

The first model of the Fiesta sedan was introduced in 1978 but was soon discontinued after two short years.

CFRA researcher Efraim Levy cautioned that while Ford's move to cut spending is a positive, there are "strategic risks and opportunity costs for essentially going "all-in" on trucks, utility vehicles and commercial vehicles", he wrote in a note to clients.
