Modi launches Ayushman Bharat Yojana

Bijapur (Chhattisgarh): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday appealed to the Maoist youth to shun their guns and join the mainstream for development in which the government would protect their rights.

"The Ayushman Bharat scheme is not limited to simply providing a service, but also invokes public participation so that we can create a healthy, capable and content New India", PM Modi said after launching the scheme. "In Chhattisgarh we have witnessed revolutionary changes in health services".

Under Ayushman Bharat, the govt has made a decision to transform 1.5 lakh sub health centres to health and wellness centres in a bid to provide comprehensive primary healthcare. PM Modi said the objective of these centres is not only to treat patients, but they will help prevent spreading illness. It would be connected to the district hospital for advanced tele-medical consultations. "Around 2.5 lakh patients have benefited through it".
