New Gmail is here: 14 new features you should know

Earlier this month, Google was reportedly testing some new features for Gmail and was planning a major overhaul for the service for web users.

But let's start from the beginning. This might be because you've used the new " snooze' feature, or the AI (yes, it was inevitable that AI would be involved) has noticed that it isn't just another circular from a clothes shop you once bought a pair of trousers from five years ago.

These are enormously helpful, enabling you to drag emails straight into other apps, and manage your appointments without leaving your inbox. The new ability to Snooze a message temporarily removes it from the inbox and drops it back in, at the top of the list, at a specific time. There's also a link to the new "snooze" feature here.

Have something sensitive you want to send in an email but are anxious about it surfacing in a hack 10 years from now? If you're a fan of a clean inbox, that's a good way to keep your inbox empty and still rest assured that an important email that you want to take care of later will pop back up into your queue.

Meanwhile, Gmail on desktop is getting a nifty feature that was previously only available on your phone: Smart Replies. When hovering over an email, the user is able to archive and delete a message, mark it as read, or "snooze" it. Some of those updates appear to be most useful for businesses, and some for consumers. For example, if you're scheduling something and were replying to every email in that thread, Gmail will ping you for new emails but will block notifications related threads you didn't replyed.

The updated aesthetics aren't hard to adjust to and there's a handful of great new features.

For many people, Gmail is the way to access your emails online. Curiously, you can't set specific reminder times, which seems like an oversight to me.

Google, Google Gmail, Gmail, Gmal Revamp, Gmail Confidentiality Feature, Gmail Revamp, Gmail Self Destructing Mails, Gmail Revamp Features, Gmail for AndroidGoogle is rolling out a new update to Gmail and has been dropping constant hints about the same. You can store up to 90 days of emails and search through them, for example. However, this is not available yet and will be rolled out in the coming weeks.

Smart Reply gives you suggestions for quick replies to messages. Gmail will also recommend when to unsubscribe to mailing lists based on cues like how many emails you get from a sender compared to how many of them you actually read.

These new features include the ability to choose actions for emails directly from one's inbox. If a message is locked, it needs to be authenticated either by granting access or using additional two-factor authentication via SMS.

Well according to Google. the new interface of Gmail is as simple as clicking on the "cog" settings button on the right side of the interface and selecting "Try the new Gmail".

Essentially, Gmail's confidential emails aren't regular emails.

The changes to Gmail also fulfill another top demand of business executives - message expiration.
