Nikki Haley says new sanctions coming on Russian Federation

Disputing the Russian military's contention that Syrian air defense units downed 71 allied missiles, Marine Lt. Gen. Kenneth McKenzie, director of the Joint Staff at the Pentagon, said no US or allies missiles were stopped.

The three allies, the US, UK and France, have produced a draft United Nations resolution that also includes proposals for an independent investigation into alleged toxic gas attacks in Syria to identify perpetrators. Hundreds of thousands of people have been killed, hundreds of thousands of people have been disappeared.

Putin called the military action a violation of the UN Charter and warned that if it continues, "it will inevitably entail chaos in worldwide relations", according to the statement.

The American military described that attack as "precision strikes" on three targets in Syria that it falsely claimed to be associated with the country's alleged chemical weapons arsenal, without producing any evidence.

The Syrian president's high spirits were matched by displays of jubilation in Damascus, where government supporters took to the streets on Saturday to demonstrate their backing for Assad and express scorn for the strikes. "From the point of view of the president, this was aggression and we share this position", Russia's TASS news agency quoted lawmaker Sergei Zheleznyak as saying after the meeting with Assad in the Syrian capital Damascus.

However, Egypt's foreign ministry expressed "deep concern" saying the strikes undermined the "safety of our brotherly Syrian people, and threatens the understandings reached regarding the de-escalation zones".

Jets Pound Wild in Whiteout Condition, Take 2-0 Series Lead
Rookie Jack Roslovic, replacing injured veteran Mathieu Perreault, had two assists in the game that ended with a series of fights. That's why you had to feel good for them this year - as they returned one of the great playoff traditions: the Winnipeg whiteout.

At Sunday mass in St George's Cathedral in Bab Al Toum, barely 2 kilometres from the now recaptured East Ghouta region, Patriarch Aphrem of the Syrian Orthodox Church tells his congregation: "Let us pray for the Syrians, and let us pray for those who violate worldwide law". We never want to see that ghastly spectre return.

She said too many governments are ignoring the atrocities in her home country and would like to see Canada take more of a leadership role in ending the conflict. "Having faced suffering and even death at the hands of ISIS, we hope that our assistance will help these communities to rise up again and rebuild for the future", Knights of Columbus CEO Carl Anderson said in a statement at the time.

In Damascus, Syria's deputy foreign minister, Faisal Mekdad, met inspectors from the global chemical weapons watchdog OPCW for about three hours in the presence of Russian officers and a senior Syrian security official. In an apparent slight at Trump, who claimed this week that the new missiles would be "nice, new and smart", Moscow said some of the equipment was designed as long ago as the 1950s. Moscow criticised the joint United Nations and OPCW inquiry as flawed. "We can not allow the use of chemical weapons to become normalized".

"The United States estimates that Assad has used chemical weapons in the Syrian war at least 50 times".

"This is not about regime change".

Assad also declined to comment on calls by the U.S. state department to declare alleged Syrian stockpiles of chemical weapons, Zheleznyak said.

More Than 100 Missiles Fired into Syria — Russian Military
Defence Minister Florence Parly said cruise missiles had been fired, in coordination with the United States and Britain. However, opposition Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn said May should have waited it out and "not trailed after Donald Trump".

Haley said that the United States would not pull its troops out of Syria until its goals were accomplished. "We've attacked the heart of the Syrians' chemical weapons program", McKenzie said.

In total, 24 Russians and 14 entities were targeted by the latest sanctions, including prominent Russian businessmen, such as Oleg Deripaska - the former president of United Company Rusal, the second largest aluminum company in the world, and Aleksey Miller - the CEO of Russian energy giant Gazprom.

"It's illegal because he didn't come and ask permission", he said. Corbyn said in an interview with the BBC.

Iran also supports Hamas and Hizbollah, the two most important resistance groups against Israel. She says: "President Assad has an absolutely positive attitude, a good mood".

"This was very strong attack on the chemical weapons program", she said. It blamed Islamic State militants for the use of mustard gas. "We're going to continue building on that".
