Constand's mother followed her on the witness stand and bolstered her account, testifying about a phone conversation she said she had with the comedian about a year after the alleged assault in which he described in graphic detail their sexual account and then apologized.

Constand met Cosby at a basketball game in 2002 at Temple University, where she was an employee.

The distraught mom immediately called to confront Cosby, now 80, after her daughter, Andrea Constand, told her she'd been drugged and molested by him in January 2004.

During cross-examination Monday, Cosby's lawyers tried to show her as an opportunist who feigned romantic interest in Cosby so she could later make a false accusation against him and file a lawsuit.

The defense said Constand spent late nights at the comedian's home, drove four hours to see him at a casino and called him twice on Valentine's Day, about a month after the alleged assault.

Constand has testified that she saw the former TV star as a mentor and had previously rejected his advances.

Constand says she felt a duty to answer Cosby's inquiries since he was an alumnus and trustee.

The woman, Nicolle Rochelle, turned out to be a former child actor on The Cosby Show.

He asked if she offered to give the money back and wondered, "Didn't you think when Mr. Cosby paid you this large sum of money he was hoping it would all go away?"

Five of Cosby's other accusers have testified in this trial.

The defense attempted to poke holes in Constand's allegations by questioning her about the almost 70 phone calls she made to Cosby after the alleged assault, her involvement in a "pyramid scheme" at Temple and her sexual assault and conflict-of-interest training as a university employee, among other things. Jackson has said that she and Constand worked closely together, had been friends and had shared hotel rooms several times.

Constand was more confident and composed as she told jurors about the night in question.

The judge has ruled that Jackson can take the stand at the retrial but indicated he could revisit the issue after Constand was finished testifying.

"Just because I'm concerned, I don't know how it affected her and I wanna know", Gianna Constand told Cosby in the 2005 call.

Cosby said he never took the drug, instead giving it to women he wanted to have sex with. The defence has called the other accusers irrelevant to the case.
