Russia Slams Western Attack on Syria as Undermining Peace

UK Prime Minister Theresa May said in a statement that she "authorized British armed forces to conduct co-ordinated and targeted strikes to degrade the Syrian Regime's chemical weapons capability and deter their use". These strikes are a retaliation to Syrian President Bashar al-Assad's poison gas attack that killed around 60 people last week in Syria.

Describing the strike as a deterrent, Trump said the U.S. would maintain pressure on Syria until the Assad regime suspends use of chemical weapons.

According to the Russian military, the massive missile strike on objects of military and civilian infrastructure was conducted by USA warships jointly with the United Kingdom and French air forces at 3:42-5:10 Moscow time.

President Donald Trump on Saturday applauded Friday night's joint military strikes on Syria, tweeting that they "could not have had a better result".
