Syria attacked 'just as it had a chance for peace' - Moscow

A day before a team from the global chemical weapons watchdog was due to arrive in Douma, just east of Damascus, Sergey Lavrov said Russian experts have already inspected the site of the alleged attack and found no trace of chemical weapons.

The Kremlin on Saturday (April 14) condemned Western air strikes on Syria, where its armed forces are backing President Bashar al-Assad.

"First, the Syrian people were subjected to Arab Spring, then Islamic State, now to "smart" American missiles", says Ms Zakharova, according to Russian state media RT.

"From a diplomatic point of view, this [missile strike on Syria] is, of course, a blow that was delivered on the geographical point on the map, but it is also a blow to the global law and the whole system of worldwide relations", Foreign Ministry's spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said.

Even without Curry, Golden State will still look to put up a lot of shots from beyond the arc and bury the Spurs in triples. JaVale McGee scored 15 points and played aggressive defense while Green had 12 points, 11 assists and eight rebounds.

Russia's foreign minister claimed on Friday that a suspected chemical attack in the Syrian town of Douma last weekend was staged with the help of an unspecified foreign intelligence agency.

Ms Zakharova also claims Western media is partly responsible for the attacks.

Russian Federation and the United States are using their channels of communications on Syria, according to Lavrov.

Anatoly Antonov, the Russian Ambassador to the USA, says the military action threatens Russia - and there will be consequences.

North Atlantic Treaty Organisation representatives planned a special session to hear from U.S., British and French officials. Both the Syrian government and Russian Federation , which backs Assad, have denied such a chemical attack took place.

"All responsibility for them rests with Washington, London and Paris", he said in a statement, adding, "the worst apprehensions have come true". "We warned that such actions will not be left without consequences". "The US - the possessor of the biggest arsenal of chemical weapons - has no moral right to blame other countries".

Earlier on Friday, the Russian Defense Ministry announced that found individuals who participated in recording the video that was used as evidence of the alleged chemical attack in Douma, Eastern Ghouta, and that it has evidence proving Britain's direct involvement in setting up this incident.

The air strikes on Syria are a violation of worldwide law and are likely meant to prevent investigators from the global chemical weapons watchdog from doing their work, a senior Russian lawmaker was quoted by Interfax as saying on Saturday.

"We are interested in meeting experts there to carry out necessary tests".
