Uber Rent: In a deal with an online car-sharing service, Uber users will now have the opportunity to rent cars from private auto owners.

This news comes on the heels of Uber's acquisition of the bike-share company Jump.

For mass transit, the San Francisco startup said it would allow app users to see various options and would launch a partnership with e-ticketing service Masabi that would eventually allow the Uber app to be used instead of tickets or passes. "By sharing our aggregated and anonymized trip data, Uber can help inform decisions about how to adapt existing infrastructure and invest in future solutions to make our cities more efficient", said Rob Khazzam, General Manager, Uber Canada.

Barcelona Wonders if it Can Survive Only on Messi's Goals
The news means the Croatia global is set to miss out when Barcelona look to return their focus to their LaLiga title charge at home against Valencia on Saturday.

Chief executive Dara Khosrowshahi presented the plans during a visit to Washington, where he said the ride-hailing pioneer would seek a more diversified model offering various transport options, including auto rentals on a partner peer-to-peer service. "We're committed to deepen how we partner with cities and excited about how urban planners and transportation professionals can use this free resource". That's why we want to provide alternatives to personal auto ownership by bringing together multiple modes of transportation right in our app.

Khosrowshahi again says the company is working with accident investigators to determine the cause of the fatal crash between an Uber self-driving vehicle and a pedestrian. In other Uber news, they will also soon partner with London-based mobile ticketing company Masabi, allowing users to buy and use transit tickets on the app.

And Uber Movement will expand into 12 cities - Amsterdam, Bangalore, Brisbane, Cairo, Hyderabad, Melbourne, Mumbai, Nairobi, New Delhi, Perth, Pittsburgh and Toronto - bringing that program's total up to 21.

"We know that there's more we can do for the cities in which we operate", Joyce added.

He continued: "Autonomous is a portion of the clear answer, and I presume in the long haul is going to become a vital region of the solution of eliminating vehicle possession".
