8-Bit 'Bloodstained' Spin-Off to Come Out in May

Backers have been asked to specify which platform they would like to access the spin-off game on, but they found out the hard way that GOG.com was not one of those platforms.

Following the announcement, the publisher released a large batch of screenshots providing another look at the nostalgic game. Now, you're probably thinking, 'I've never heard of that game!' In the Kickstarter campaign for Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night, one of the stretch goals was for an 8-bit game.

Inti Creates began streaming a trailer on Saturday to announce it and Koji Igarashi's Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon video game. The single-player title will release digitally on May 24 for $9.99 on PlayStation 4, PS Vita, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo 3DS, and Steam.

Igarashi is working with developer Inti Creates on Curse of the Moon, which is a spinoff of Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night, which is a modern spiritual successor to the Symphony of the Night. During your journey you can meet travelers who can join your party as playable characters.
