Canada: Bomb blast injures over a dozen at Indian restaurant

Canadian police said they are looking for two men suspected of exploding a bomb inside an Indian restaurant in a Toronto suburb.

Three of the victims are said to be in a critical condition following the blast which happened at 10.30pm local time.

Eyewitnesses describe chaos with injured guests and panicked families fleeing the restaurant, where guests had been holding two separate family parties.

Peel Paramedic Services said at least 15 people had to be treated for various injuries, including three people who suffered critical injuries. At about 03:00 o'clock in the morning, the police Saw confirmed that all three are in stable condition. They then fled the scene. Authorities issued descriptions of the two men and appealed to the public to help identify them.

The blast comes a month after a driver deliberately plowed a white Ryder rental van into a lunch-hour crowd in Toronto, killing 10 people and wounding 16. The Indian consulate in Toronto has opened a helpline.

Regional police chief Jennifer Evans described one attacker as "light-skinned" in his mid-20s and the other as "fair-skinned" and said both had the hood of their jackets pulled over their heads, wore baseball caps and had dark cloth covering their faces.
