Author and trader Bill Williams created The Awesome Oscillator Indicator (AO) and outlined the theory and calculation in his book "New Trading Dimensions". The indicator is computed by using the average losses and gains of a stock over a certain time period. The indicator is non-directional meaning that it gauges trend strength whether the stock price is trending higher or lower. AroonDown and the AroonUp indicators are used together and combined are called the Aroon indicator. As you can see, the Aroon Oscillator is either going to be positive or negative the vast majority of the time. For example, a surge above +50 would reflect a strong upside move, while a plunge below -50 would indicate a strong downside move. Checking in on some other technical levels, the 14-day RSI is now at 51.39, the 7-day stands at 58.34, and the 3-day is sitting at 65.99. Many technical analysts believe that an ADX value over 25 would suggest a strong trend. A level under 20 would indicate no trend, and a reading from 20-25 would suggest that there is no clear trend signal. A value of 50-75 would identify a very strong trend, and a value of 75-100 would lead to an extremely strong trend. The Average Directional Index or ADX is a technical analysis indicator used to describe if a market is trending or not trending. Trends are often measured and identified by "trendlines". The ADX is typically plotted along with two other directional movement indicator lines, the Plus Directional Indicator (+DI) and Minus Directional Indicator (-DI). (TCL-B.TO) has a 14-day Commodity Channel Index (CCI) of 112.29. The Williams %R fluctuates between 0 and -100 measuring whether a security is overbought or oversold. A CCI reading of +100 may represent overbought conditions, while readings near -100 may indicate oversold territory. Active investors may choose to use this technical indicator as a stock evaluation tool. The Fund seeks investment results that correspond generally to the price and yield performance of the Russell 2000 Index (the Index). The RSI was created by J. Welles Wilder who was striving to measure whether or not a stock was overbought or oversold. RSI can be used to help spot overbought or oversold conditions. RSI can be used to detect general trends as well as finding divergences and failure swings. Presently, the stock has a 14-day RSI of 74.52, the 7-day is sitting at 87.54, and the 3-day is resting at 96.71. Knowing exactly what to look for when doing stock research may take a lot of time to master.
