Lou Barletta wins Republican US Senate primary

The four-term US representative emerged the victor in Tuesday's primary election, defeating state Rep. Jim Christiana of Beaver County.

This race could help determine whether republicans maintain control of the chamber.

Lou Barletta has captured the Republican nomination in Pennsylvania's U.S. Senate race.

"Barletta is going to try to make this race about Casey, and Casey is going to try to make it about Trump".

Barletta is endorsed by the state Republican Party and is a favorite of President Donald Trump, who Barletta endorsed in the 2016 presidential election even before Trump had won Pennsylvania's primary election.

Barletta was an early backer of Trump - and Trump has backed Barletta, recording a robocall for him days ahead of the primary against state Rep. Jim Christiana.
