Britain’s Richest Man Ratcliffe Offers £2bn For Chelsea


According to a report in the Daily Mail, Roman Abramovich has rejected a bid from Jim Ratcliffe, Britain's richest man, to purchase Chelsea Football Club.

Ratcliffe, 65, boss of petrochemicals giant Ineos, who is knighted today in the Queen's Birthday Honours for services to business and investment, is understood to have offered about £2bn for the club.

In recent weeks, Abramovich has experienced problems with gaining a working visa for the United Kingdom and has also chose to postpone plans to build a new stadium.
