Led joint bid wins right to host 2026 World Cup

The FIFA Congress held its annual meeting the day before the start of the World Cup to vote on whether the US -led bid or the Morocco bid will get to host the soccer tournament.

Former FIFA president Sepp Blatter has said he will attend the World Cup as a guest of Russian president Vladimir Putin.

All three hosts should get automatic places in the lineup, and each host a game on opening day.
