Mo Salah provides boost for Egyptians ahead of their World Cup opener

GROZNY: Mohamed Salah, a star attraction ahead of football´s 2018 World Cup in Russian Federation, has made headlines for a smiling photo with Ramzan Kadyrov, strongman of Chechnya where his Egypt team have set up camp. The Pharaohs had a tough run in the preparatory World Cup matches, tying with Kuwait and Colombia and losing to Greece, Belgium and Portugal.

The 25-year-old attacker who has enjoyed a successful season following his move to English Premier League outfit Liverpool, sustained a shoulder injury which saw him forced to leave the field during The Reds' eventual Uefa Champions League final defeat to Real Madrid.

Salah jogged for about 30 minutes in a training session as his teammates worked on the same pitch in Grozny for the match in Ekaterinburg.
