But Bauer Media appealed and the Woman's Day publisher had a major win on Thursday.
"In particular, this court has rejected the finding that Rebel Wilson lost the opportunity to earn AU$15m by being cast in lead or co-lead roles in three Hollywood feature films during the period from mid-2015 to the end of 2016", Justice Pamela Tate said.
In the hours before the appeal, Wilson pointed out that Thursday's case was contending the amount of money she was to be paid, not the result of the case.
The court set aside the decision to give Ms Wilson around $3.9 million for economic losses, and reduced the $650,000 compensation figure awarded to the actress for non-economic loss by $50,000.
Italy still waiting for apology from France's Macron: deputy PM
Salvini was harshly critical of Malta for refusing to take the migrant ship after Italy closed its ports to it. Salvini insisted Tuesday that the country's ports would no longer be open to foreign boats carrying migrants.
"The Court of Appeal held that, for a considerable number of reasons, the critical inferences drawn by the judge could not be upheld", the summary of judgement said.
Wilson is now in Europe in pre-production on Taika Waititi's war-drama Jojo Rabbit but she tweeted that the case was "never about the money" and that proceeds would be going to charity.
Wilson was originally awarded $4.5m last September, which was the biggest defamation payout in Australian history.
Instead, they will now pay just 600,000 Australian dollars (£338,000).
Apple to close iPhone security loophole used by police
To break into the devices, the Federal Bureau of Investigation and local police have resorted to employing third-parties. That's a odd thing to say, because Apple would actually be late to the party if it ends up switching to USB-C in 2019.
In other post, she wrote: 'The Court of Appeal in Australia will be handing down their decision in the morning re my defamation case against As I've said before, I have already WON the case and this is UNCHALLENGED!'
But regardless of how much in damages she's awarded, Wilson said she still considers herself a victor.
Speaking on behalf of Bauer Media, general counsel, Adrian Goss, said: "It was important for us to revisit the award of damages". The legal process has run its course and Bauer welcomes the court's decision to set aside the entire award of damages for economic loss.
Apparently some weight loss companies are using her image to sell their shit, and Wilson's not into it.
