Trump disrupts gender equality meeting at G-7 summit by arriving late

On Saturday, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau sniped about "stragglers" after Mr Trump was late to a breakfast session on gender equality.

President Trump said retaliation tariffs from his allies were a "mistake" and warned that if it got as far as a trade war, then the United States would "win that war a thousand times out of a thousand".

Mr Trump tweeted: "PM Justin Trudeau of Canada acted so meek and mild during our G7 meetings only to give a news conference after I left saying that, "US Tariffs were kind of insulting" and he 'will not be pushed around'".

The Canadian government announced at the G7 summit that it has raised more than $3.8 billion in an effort with other countries to send the world's poorest girls to school.

Trudeau is listed as 6-foot-2 while Trump was actually listed on his official White House physical as 6-foot-3.

Trump tweeted his reversal after what he called "false statements" by Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, who he labeled "dishonest and weak".

European officials said Trump had tried to water down the language in the draft communique on the WTO and rules-based trade.

Trump will meet with Macron and Trudeau face-to-face on Friday.

Trump says they will either have a better agreement on NAFTA or two deals involving separate trade deals with both Canada and Mexico.

He was reacting to Trudeau's declaration that Canadians would "not be pushed around" and would hit back at punishing USA tariffs on metal imports with "equivalent tariffs".

Trump, who angered Washington's top allies last week when he imposed tariffs on steel and aluminum imports from Canada, the European Union and Mexico, issued a broad indictment of global trade, with swipes at the G7 and India.
