United States is a 'piggybank everyone is robbing', says Trump at G7


Calling out one of America's closest allies by name, Trump accused Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau of making "false statements" during a presser after his departure.

Mr. Trump had signed the official G7 communique before leaving, but hours later, he tweeted that he had instructed his representatives "not to endorse" the final statement.

"I've been firm, I've been clear, but I don't think descending into insults is right for the way Canada engages with the world", the prime minister said.

"We stand by the commitments made in the G7 communique", a senior United Kingdom government source said. Canada is focused on maintaining a trilateral pact, the official said.
