A helicopter crashed Sunday into a housing complex near the College of William & Mary in Williamsburg, Va., touching off a fire and leaving at least one person dead, authorities said. State police had said earlier in the evening they were still searching for the pilot.
Police say they are still working to locate and identify the pilot of the helicopter.

The accident took place in a residential area near the campus of William and Mary, which warned people to stay away from the area.
The Federal Aviation Administration and National Transportation Safety Board are also responding to the scene.
