Full-Length ‘Nightflyers’ Trailer Teases Syfy’s George R.R. Martin Adaptation

The ten-episode series will be airing on Syfy in the United States, and will hit Netflix in the rest of the world at some point in 2019 - though there's no official date yet.

Daniel Cerone (The Blacklist), the original showrunner of Nightflyers, has left the project, and producer Jeff Buhler (Jacob's Ladder), who wrote the series, has taken over.

Game of Thrones might be rapidly approaching its final run of episodes, but anyone hoping for a new fix of George RR Martin-inspired TV drama is in luck.

In a July 2018 interview, Martin told Publishers Weekly that certain aspects of the show would be different from his novella, including its removal from The Thousand Worlds shared universe where many of his stories (including Nightflyers but not ASOIAF) take place.

While Martin won't be involved directly with the series (he's under an exclusive contract with HBO) he is credited as an executive producer. Their mission is to make contact with extraterrestrial life, but then terrifying events begin to happen-not in the depths of space, but in the bowels of their own ship.

Syfy has officially released the trailer for the network's upcoming series Nightflyers.

It's set to debut on SYFY, natch, this fall.

Nightflyers, which will be aired on Syfy in the United States, will launch on Netflix outside of the U.S. in 2019.

The series, which is executive produced by Game of Thrones author Martin, stars Irish actors Eoin Macken (The Night Shift) and Brían F O'Byrne (Love/Hate) alongside Gretchen Mol (Boardwalk Empire), David Ajala (Fast & Furious 6), Sam Strike (EastEnders), Maya Eshet (Teen Wolf), Angus Sampson (Fargo) and Jodie Turner-Smith (The Last Ship).
