A comparatively small part of Jenner's fortune, around $100m, comes from endorsement deals with Puma, PacSun clothing, diet teas and other slimming products as well as her appearances on two reality shows: Keeping Up with the Kardashians and her spin-off series Life of Kylie.

Kylie Jenner just landed a cover of a magazine nobody was expecting: Forbes' America's Women Billionaires issue.

The 20-year-old with her seemingly unstoppable makeup empire, Kylie Cosmetics, is one of seven newcomers on the list, which includes the likes of her sister Kim Kardashian.

"Before I even refreshed the page, everything was sold out", Jenner said. "I was insecure about my lips, and lipstick is what helped me feel confident".

She has a handful of full time employees, a factory in China and her marketing and finances are managed by the Kardashian matriarch, Kris Jenner.

Jenner said she got the idea to launch her signature "lip kits" because she loved putting on lip liner as a teenager.

The company was launched with $250,000 (£188,000) of Kylie's own money she had earned from modelling; she produced 15,000 lip kits and teased the launch for months on Instagram.

There has always been rumors that Kylie Jenner's Kylie Cosmetics (the brand that launched the OG lip kit and a million copycats) was on its way to being a billion-dollar business, and now it appears that historic milestone is closer than ever. She has become so dominant on social media that when she tweeted that she had become bored with Snapchat, its parent company's stock lost 6% of its value within a day, around $1.3bn.

The success of Kylie Cosmetics is mostly linked to the new mom's legion of loyal social media followers, who are quick to snatch up whatever items she promotes.
