Authorities determined that Hernandez's vehicle had been in Monterey County about 9:30 a.m. July 6 because it was captured on a business security camera, the San Mateo Sheriff's Office said on Twitter.
The 23-year-old had been driving from Portland to Southern California to visit her sister and was reported missing by her family on July 6 when they stopped hearing from her.

The California Highway Patrol said she drank water from her car's radiator in order to stay alive. "She's a fighter and she fought this long and she will continue to".
"My sister is alive, she's talking, and she's still trying to come to understand everything", wrote Angela's sister Isabel Hernandez on Facebook.
The Monterey County Sheriff's Office posted pictures of the remarkable rescue, showing paramedics treating the young woman on the beach under the sheer cliff.

Rescuers managed to get her up the cliff and to a helicopter which flew her to a nearby hospital. On the morning of July 6 she texted her sister saying she was hitting the road before she suddenly went off the grid. Her auto was seen on a gas station surveillance camera south of Carmel last Friday morning. Calls to her cell phone went straight to voice mail.
Officials had been looking along Highway 1, which borders the Pacific Ocean, and Big Sur after surveillance video showed her leaving a gas station near Carmel on July 6, about 25 miles north of where she was found.
She was found conscious and breathing, lying outside of her vehicle by the hikers after 6:30pm on Friday. Angela is an active social media user and since then, she has not been active.
