He may be 40 and have retired from worldwide football but Gianluigi Buffon is about to enter a new phase of his stellar career.
"We shall all get game time during the season and I shall do all I can to put the others in the best possible conditions".
Buffon is widely regarded as being one of the greatest goalkeepers of all time, winning the 2006 World Cup with Italy along with nine Serie A titles.

"I have followed PSG the most for the past few years now".
"I have always been a player who has earned his starting place on the field", added Buffon, who will seek to dislodge Alphonse Areola, who pushed German Kevin Trapp down to number two last season. "But when the season begins you can't think of enveloping all this in the aim for the Champions League because that would be complete craziness and we're not insane here".Читайте также: Kevin De Bruyne’s versatility paying off for Belgium at World Cup
"I've come to an ambitious club, where everyone wants to win".
"This new adventure can help me progress as much as a person as it will a player", he intimated.
That has now been confirmed, with the deal which takes Buffon to France including a 12-month extension option which could take him past his 42nd birthday.
The Italian goalkeeping legend is leaving Juventus after 17 years to join Paris St-Germain on a free transfer. "I like competition and a challenge".
"I played only a year with him but I have affection for him", he said.
Buffon is expected to be in PSG's squad for the International Champions Cup fixtures against Bayern Munich, Arsenal and Atletico Madrid in Austria and Singapore this summer.При любом использовании материалов сайта и дочерних проектов, гиперссылка на обязательна.
