Trump arrives United Kingdom for first State visit

More than 60,000 people have signed up to demonstrate in London on Friday when protesters intend to fly a large balloon over parliament portraying Trump as an orange, snarling baby.

Labour Party legislator Paul Flynn, who has criticized Trump in Parliament, says Trump has outraged Britons - and people around the world - with his harsh treatment of immigrants.

Mr Trump is expected to meet Prime Minister Theresa May today - days after saying the United Kingdom was "somewhat in turmoil".

Assistant Chief Constable Chris Shead, from the National Police Coordination Centre, said: "Police forces are working together on a significant, multi-faceted security operation supporting the presidential visit to the UK".

The trek, coming more than a year and a half into his presidency, does not have the trappings of a state visit.

Mr Trump is believed to be spending the weekend playing golf at his Turnberry resort in South Ayrshire, which he bought in 2014, although there has been no official confirmation of his plans.

Trump "has proudly sparked passionate often divisive emotions about things, I think Americans living here to eager to turn out and express their views", he said.

"You see, what's going on throughout the world with immigration..."

The trip includes meetings with Prime Minister Theresa May, who has described the United States as Britain's strongest ally, and is determined to secure a trade deal after the country acts on Brexit and leaves the European Union in March 2019.

Later, Trump will take tea with Queen Elizabeth II at Windsor Castle, a home to the royals for 1,000 years, part of a tour created to keep him away from protesters.
