Trump lists Russia, EU, China as 'foes' ahead of Putin summit

President Donald Trump says "nothing bad. maybe some good" will come out of his summit Monday with Russia's Vladimir Putin in Finland.

When asked to name the biggest competitor to the United States globally, Trump first named the European Union - which is comprised of several of the closest and oldest USA allies.

Donald Tusk, president of the European Council, replied on Twitter using one of Trump's favorite stock phrases.

In the interview, CBS News's Jeff Glor asked Trump what he considers his biggest foe globally, prompting Trump to lament the EU's trade policies. "I think the European Union is a foe, what they do to us in trade".

He also said Russian Federation "is a foe in certain respects" and that China "is a foe economically". "They had bad defenses and they were able to be hacked". It doesn't mean anything. It means that they're competitors. The US leader added that he doesn't necessarily view them negatively.

Some have also included English striker Harry Kane as a candidate for the Golden Ball, who now has six World Cup goals . Prior to the trophy being lifted, Mbappe was named the FIFA Young Player of the tournament , rather unsurprisingly.

The US president left after another round of golf at his Turnberry resort on Sunday after a four-day visit.

Then, before making his first state visit to the United Kingdom, the president gave a insane interview to a British tabloid in which he blasted British prime minister Theresa May and praised her primary rival, criticizing her handling of the Brexit crisis - though he later tried to deny having made the (recorded) statement.

The President also lied about his parents, saying that both "were born in European Union sectors".

Trump was referring to a new natural gas pipeline between Germany, a North Atlantic Treaty Organisation member, and Russian Federation, the country that North Atlantic Treaty Organisation allies push back against. "I respect the leaders of those countries", Trump said of the European nations, pointing out how his mother was from Scotland and his dad was from Germany.

"Despite what you have heard from the fake news, I had a great meeting with German Chancellor Angela Merkel".

Mourinho said Sterling did not have a good World Cup after the former Liverpool winger struggle in front of goal all through the tournament.

"I respect the leaders of those countries", he said.

"America and the European Union are best friends".

Trump's comments double down on his criticism of North Atlantic Treaty Organisation member countries at last week's summit. Where they're going to be paying Russian Federation billions and billions of dollars a year for energy, and I say that's not good, that's not fair. And then you look how, you know, partisan it is. "I think it's ridiculous, so I let that be known also this time", Trump said. There's a lot of anger.

"Are they waving a white flag?" he asked.
