Tottenham Hotspur have not made a bid which is even close Aston Villa's valuation of Jack Grealish, according to boss Steve Bruce.

The club must still comply with Financial Fair Play and selling Grealish would virtually solve the issue but Bruce has told Spurs they can no longer agree a knockdown price. The playmaker could bid farewell to his beloved West Midlands club as he is now odds-on to leave before the transfer window slams shut on Thursday, with Tottenham firm favourites to sign him.

"We don't want to lose our best players, but they're aware of course that everyone has their price".

In case you didn't know, a live-action Sonic the Hedgehog movie (which will mix CGI with real life footage) is in the works. Visual effects master and Deadpool director Tim Miller is on board as an executive producer and Neal H.

"So if someone wants to buy our players, they are going to have to find a premium and make sure the owners are comfortable with it", the 57-year-old added.

"There's not a discussion to be had at the moment because they've got nowhere near the figure that they demand".

Bruce was resigned to losing Grealish on the cheap before Nassef Sawiris and Wes Edens' takeover last month which saved Villa from possible administration.
