Allrounder Chris Woakes struck his first test century to guide England to 357-6 and a commanding 250-run lead over top-ranked India at stumps on Day 3 of the second test at Lord's on Saturday.

Although bad light ended play early and spared India further punishment, they will need a much-improved batting performance after their first-innings 107 if they are to save this Test. After the departure of the openers, English captain, Joe Root, stitched a min-partnership of 45 runs with debutant Ollie Pope.

Jonny Bairstow deserved a century but was out for 93 as England took the gsme away from the tourists.

Huddersfield Town 0 Chelsea 3: Disappointing result, not display, claims Wagner
Huddersfield fans will have felt the half-time score was harsh, but Chelsea set about extending their lead after the restart. Imagine a midfield three of Kante, Jorginho and Matteo Kovacic with Hazard and Willian or Pedro behind Higuain.

Captain Kohli hasn't played the same XI in successive Tests for 36 matches, dating back to the 2014 Adelaide Test in which he led India in whites for the first time in his career.

It was not certain that Woakes would play this Test. England decided on the second morning to select him over off-spinner Moeen Ali, with Ben Stokes on trial for affray. The sight of big-hitting Jos Buttler at the crease would not have settled their nerves, but such has been the difficulty to score on the Lord's pitch that Virat Kohli and Co. would have doubtless backed themselves to make early inroads.

Sam Curran and Stuart Broad chipped in with a wicket each, while Anderson dismissed Ajinkya Rahane (18) and scoreless duo Kuldeep Yadav and Ishant Sharma to end with figures of 5-20. Against South Africa in January, he became the first batsman to be run out twice in a test since 2000 and was the first Indian player to do so in test history. "For me I find it so much fun when it is like that", said Anderson.

Trump marked Pence's announcement with a tweet: " Space Force all the way!" It will literally be called Space Force . However, Dodge added, one driving force to create a Space Force now instead of sometime in the future is political.

And in his 25th match at this level, Woakes surpassed his previous Test best of 66, made against Sri Lanka at Lord´s two years ago, before completing a 129-ball hundred, including 15 fours, with a pulled three off Hardik Pandya. The all-rounder looked every inch a top-order batsman as, in tough conditions, he took the game to the India attack.

Batsman Pujara was brought in for Shikhar Dhawan.

If the leaked team-sheet proves authentic, then Kohli and the team management have opted to field the same playing XI that had lost the first Test of the five-match series at Edgbaston last week.
