Crime thriller City of Lies, an investigation into the murders of hip-hop rivals Notorious B.I.G. and Tupac Sahkur, is not going to make its September 7 USA release date, according to distributor Global Road Entertainment. Unfortunately, it would appear that the film is no longer slated to be released on its original date. City of Lies was initially scheduled for release on September 7, but the release is now "undated", as Variety reports.
The film, based on the book LAbyrinth by Randall Sullivan, also stars Forest Whitaker as a journalist that teams up with Poole to discover the truth of the murders. It's unclear if that's what contributed to "City of Lies" getting yanked from the schedule, though.

Gregg "Rocky" Brooks alleges that Depp "forcefully punched" him twice in the ribs after the actor was told the film's production was being stopped for the day. Brad Furman, the filmmaker behind The Lincoln Lawyer and Runner Runner, directed the drama.

"City Of Lies" was also supposed to arrive in United Kingdom cinemas on Friday 7 September, and its future here also remains unclear. I wonder if Depp attacking a random co-worker will change any of his die-hard fans' minds about the allegations that he assaulted his ex-wife Amber Heard?
