Koepka Holds 2-stroke Lead; Tiger in Top 6

Brooks Koepka lines up a putt on the 15th green during the third round of the PGA Championship golf tournament at Bellerive Country Club.

Well, it's about to get even wilder Sunday. He tied Gary Player's record for the most birdies in a round in the PGA Championship. There's a ton of KU people.

"The only outcome I'm seeing any differently would have been I just shouldn't have hit a 5-iron. It's been insane all week", Woodland said. He'll look to join Gene Sarazen, Ben Hogan, Jack Nicklaus and Tiger Woods as the only players to win the U.S. Open and PGA Championship in the same season.

"They have been unbelievable", Woods said of the fans. It's all about what's going on between the ropes and the ears. Sunday should be more of the same-gettable birdies, soft greens, straightforward shots-and 14 golfers, including six of the top 10 in the world, sit within five strokes of Koepka's lead. He shook off the triple and resumed hunting pins.

Woodland is yet to record a top 10 in 27 major appearances but has reaped the rewards of working with two British coaches, Phil Kenyon on his putting and Pete Cowen on his short game.

But it doesn't mean he won't have a chance to catch Koepka, who got to 13 under before he showed glimpses of a struggle - making back-to-back bogeys on 14 and 15 to come back to the field.

And the degree of time needed to prepare for a long day of golf at the PGA Championship is undoubtedly tied to the myriad maladies associated with the player. If he did it once, why can't he do it again?

Anti-racist protestors march through Charlottesville
Additional events marking the anniversary of Heyer's death are also expected Sunday in both Charlottesville and Washington , D.C. But on Saturday, he tweeted: "The riots in Charlottesville a year ago resulted in senseless death and division".

While U.S. Open Champion Brooks Koepka tied a PGA Championship record with his 63 on Friday, another 2018 major victor struggled.

What did he tell himself to shake it off?

"After this week I could just retire, it's been so fantastic". And I really hit some great shots the next couple of holes, gave myself a lot of chances for birdie, and made a couple of them.

It all unraveled so quickly for Woodland and he put it back together with similar swiftness on his way to shooting a 1-over 71.

He's played the final three holes in 4 under the last two rounds and has plenty of experience in big moments.

Before getting to how he carded a 7, let's look at what he did up to that point. "The crowds are insane so we're just trying to plan it out and see what we can see". Woodland stuck it to 12 inches and tapped in for a bogey.

"It's hard to make big numbers", Woodland said. Spieth didn't get under par for the tournament until his seventh hole Friday - the par-3 16th hole - and he managed to do enough right for a 66 to get within seven shots of the lead.

Wrong Tommy Fleetwood gets paid over $150000 for British Open
You're not the Tommy Fleetwood who won the European Race To Dubai and recorded top 5 finishes in majors in 20178 and 2018. Fleetwood, who begins his PGA Championship bid at Bellerive on Thursday , said: "It looks pretty genuine".

Just like that, he was three strokes off the lead, his deficit about to swell to six. Woods, who said Saturday's round-and-a-half of golf left him mentally exhausted, will have to make every birdie he missed thus far. Three shots behind at the turn, he and Kevin Kisner were in a front bunker. "Going into the back nine within three shots on Sunday, anything is doable". He chipped it to eight inches and tapped in for a triple. So you just fire in and you get away with more, like you don't have to be as precise.

"It's a good position to be in and there's a lot of holes to be played", Schwartzel said.

"There have been ups and downs and I just feel like I'm starting to play a better golf game".

The 14-time major victor was three under for his round to that point and carried on where he left off on Saturday morning, pitching to five feet and holing the putt to improve to four under par.

Woodland still leads the way but there is a glut of talent close behind. "The last few weeks have been good", Lowry said.

"I feel like I played well today", said Woods, who only returned to competitive golf in November after undergoing spinal fusion surgery in April previous year. And hopefully I go out and play decent tomorrow and see what happens.
