QB play, defense help Browns to preseason win Taylor and Mayfield combine

The Browns starting QB Tyrod Taylor completed all of his five passes for 99 yards and a touchdown.

On the first drive Thursday night against the Cleveland Browns, Barkley also ran for a two-yard loss. Taylor's first completion was a 32-yarder to Jarvis Landry, who apparently did something other than "bless" Janoris Jenkins afterward, as the newest "Hard Knocks" star drew a 15-yard taunting penalty. The drive displayed Tyrod's efficient passing, his ability to communicate with the inexperienced crew around him, and that he's capable of leading this offense.

Tottenham achieved objective, says manager Mauricio Pochettino
Pochettino does accept how the lack of activity might be viewed externally, but is happy with the club's vision. "We finish the lodge at the training ground".

Baker Mayfield's first National Football League drive came and went in a blink. It started with him throwing a handsome back shoulder pass to Rashard Higgins. He converted another third down with his legs, then a 4th & 2 in the red zone by scrambling. He then almost found controversial rookie Antonio Callaway, in the lineup only days after receiving a marijuana citation that he didn't immediately inform the Browns of, on a deep shot that Callaway couldn't locate. Rookie Antonio Callaway and third-year receiver Rashard Higgins are expected to get the first opportunities to fill that spot now.

Mayfield finished a stellar evening 11-of-20 for 212 yards and two touchdowns.

Left guard Will Hernandez, the Giants' second-round pick after Barkley, delivered the nastiness and aggressiveness that was missing up front last season. It was also an indication that their three big offseason additions to the offensive line mesh well with his running style. It definitely was Le'Veon Bell-esque. If the Giants can begin opening up running lanes between the tackles, it will be a long season for opposing defenses.
