Sony's Marvel Universe Plans - Every Movie Currently Happening

Sony is making plans for the approximately 900 Marvel character properties it owns, and in a recent article about that very subject, we learn that Sony actually has a name for its Marvel Franchise: the SUMC, or "Sony's Universe of Marvel Characters".

Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, the creative minds behind "The Lego Movie" and "21 Jump Street", bring their unique talents to a fresh vision of a different Spider-Man Universe, with a groundbreaking visual style that's the first of its kind.

But the million dollar question still remains: will Sony's Marvel movies connect with the MCU? When Venom was first announced it was said to be R-rated, and its trailers definitely hint at violence that deserves the adult rating.

James Bond Producers Reportedly Eyeing Idris Elba As Next 007
Idris Elba was a massive early favourite back in 2015, but his own denials and so much time passing had bumped him down the list. Since, however, inclinations that Elba might be the first non-white Bond have subsided, until recently.

In addition, Sony has officially scrapped the female driven Silver & Black film that was supposed to feature the Black Cat, a thief, and Sliver Sable, a ruthless mercenary.

Sony's Venom movie is reportedly likely to have a PG-13 rating, rather than an R. Sony has also had discussions on other Spider-Man characters such as Silk and Nightwatch, with Variety reporting that the Spidey adjacent superhero Jackpot is also in the works for her own movie. We'll just have to see if fans are understanding about the compromise.

They believe Black Cat can stand on her own and will feature in her own film.

Israelis and Palestinians must join forces against Hamas, says Trump envoy Greenblatt
The military said more than 180 rockets and mortar bombs were fired from Gaza . "Bayan was sleeping with her mother and father". The Gaza Strip, home to almost two million Palestinians, has been reeling under a crippling Israeli blockade since 2007.

If you've been following Sony's SUMC plans (before it was known as the SUMC), then you may have noticed that there's one title missing in that list, and it's one that had seemingly been in development the longest.

Original director of the Sliver & Black film, Gina Prince-Bythewood is likely to take a producer credit on both the Black Cat and Silver Sable film, but will not stay to be writer or director for either project. All Sony is really doing at the moment is temporarily withholding toys for Marvel to play with.

Like a "turd in the wind", Venom is slowly but surely rolling towards us for it's October release.
